Off Season Training pays off with MKU's Youth Athletes
Martavien Johnson and Deamonte Trayanum together lead the Canton Bills to 3rd straight Championship. These two young athletes are great examples of "HARD-WORK PAYS OFF". After basketball season ended in early March, these two guys have been working to prepare themselves for the upcoming football season. MKU provided these young men with an opportunity to do that. They worked on speed, agility, and there offensive and defensive positions with a position coach. Martavien has been with MKU about two years now and is one of the hardest working kids in his age group. Deamonte had a breakout season after putting in countless hours of off season training to develop his skills.
Amaurion Watson wins his 3rd championship in three season. A-Team Rams player Amaurion helped his team win the league championship this past weekend. This is Amaurion's third year playing organized football and he already has three championships under his belt. Amaurion age 9 has been with MKU since he was 6 years old. Small in stature he makes up with his ability to change directions without loosing a step, and his willingness to succeed.
Alex, Deshawn, Amaurion, and Marlon after a hard fought championship game. Four of MKU's youth athletes competed against each other in the A-Team league championship. Alex, Deshawn, and Marlon all played on the East Dragons A-Team with Amaurion playing on the Firestone Park Rams A-Team. Alex had the only touchdown out of the four. Deshawn, and Marlon were East's work horses carrying or catching most of East's offensive plays. If you see Deshawn play he looks like Eric Dickerson just "SMOOTH". Marlon is a tough hard nose natural linebacker that will hit you every play. Alex is a jack of all trades with his ability to run, catch, and throw the ball makes him dangerous.
When you talk about natural at his/her sport all of these young athletes are. They competed against each other all off season and pushed each other to get better on and off the field. We are proud of these young athletes and you will hear more about them in the near future.
